Masks over millennia have meant many things to cultures known and forever forgotten. Many to ward off evil spirits, others to call them forth, some to become them, be Gods and some to represent their dreams, totems, deities, spirits or demons. Virtually all were made and worn to become someone or something else. Ooga Booga calls forth the ancient Boogie Dude who is scary to see yet keeps the Boogie Man away. When lit, he also lights way for the demonic rascals to come close, gaze into his eyes and presto chango, the Boogies are banished. He also gets sunburns, hence the hat his mom made him.
