next exit, roadside attraction

In my youth our family piled in the 1961 Rambler and visited roadside attractions all over New MExico, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Texas….many of which were rock based, native American based, prehistoric dino tracks, etc. As three bots in the back of the car, we couldn’t wait to get out of the car, at the next roadside attraction. This attraction was inspired by the piece of log (while splitting wood) that appeared and looked exactly like the Cliff Dwellings in New Mexico.

To go along with this other-worldly site, tourists would also be treated to the alien spaceship and monument that just so happened to be on the same site…all for the price of admission.
