MIC LIGHTS
This is a cross section of the different Mic Lights we create using vintage 1930's to 1950's iconicly designed microphones and turning them into artistic musically lit wonders. There is any number of combinations to be dreamed of and constructed.
Blender Light
This is the first piece created in the blender light series. The iconic blenders from the 40-60’s which were in my grandfathers Rexall soda fountain always intrigued me because magic was made from them. Chocolate malts while listening to the jukebox. The combo of mics and blenders from this era sing to my palette.
Fire Light
Chrome Fire Engine Water Cap
Double Fire Hose Hydrant
Double Mic Stand
Two Shure 51 Mics
Two Halogen Bulbs
Electro Voice Cardyne 1 Mic Light
My love affair with vintage mics know no bounds. At the peak of my producing/engineering career we had collected over 500 vintage mics. Turning them into collectable mic lights is now the next generation for their beautifully industrial age designs, each housed on bases that help display their magnificence.
Hamilton Beach #18 Lite
This is the second piece created in the blender light series using a 1930’s American D-9 mic, one of the more iconic designs in microphone history. The blenders from the 40-60’s which were in my grandfathers Rexall soda fountain always intrigued me because magic was made from them. Chocolate malts while listening to the jukebox. The combo of mics and blenders from this era sing to my pallet.
Shure 55s Mic Light
The Shure 55 series were called the ‘Elvis Mics’ because he made them famous and they are perfect for housing mic lights. Turning them into collectable mic lights is now the next generation for their beautifully industrial age designs, this one mounted on a 1930’s lamp stand.
Shure Unidyne 11 Mic Light
The Shure 55 series were called the ‘Elvis Mics’ because he made them famous and they are perfect for housing mic lights. This 55S or Unidyne is the smaller cousin to the larger 55. This sculpture is mounted on a new chrome base for that added flash appeal.
